Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal Honest Opinion
Reading the synopsis Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal looks like a slanting comment on gender discussion but its character had managed to form the equilibrium. All four women had already transcended their gender barriers they were doing things which most men are entitled to do like Shaila a Muslim girl who owns a taxi service only for women with women driver, Chitra who is a martial arts instructor, Chitra a women constable who didn’t shy away from bending the trivial laws, Vibha an excessive smoker who works at social media specialist, but that fear of getting rape is still in them just like an asthma patient has fear of attack every time before having ice-cream. They want men to have that same fear back in there mind. In order to bolster their conviction to cross the bounds of the law. Their characters had some really horrific past stories. They kidnapped Manish. There was a shift in the narrative as well as in the visual aspect of the film. Start from handheld tracking shots and long takes are now becoming small takes with medium and close up shots. The character of Manish was so evil that we get convinced that what is happening with him is right. His character progression was the soul of the narrative. Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal is an extremist yet moderate take on gender inequality.
