During this pandemic, the Amazon prime dropped another web series on the internet. Since the day of the release of its trailer, Pataal Lok was being compared with Mirzapur and Sacred Games and nevertheless, the comparisons were genuine. Let's explore Pataal Lok Review and find out how does it stand!
Pataal Lok Web Series Review
Pataal Lok is a web series whose story revolves around a cop who wants to succeed in life but the system has held his hands to harness what he has. Due to the corruption in the system, he sees his juniors getting promotions and better designations and is frustrated by his life when a new case turns up.
Four people who were going for the assassination of a renowned journalist were caught by Delhi Police on a bridge and arrests them with arms and ammunition. The case is handed over to Hathiram Chaudhary (Jaideep Ahlawat) who finds this as a once in a lifetime opportunity to prove his abilities and capabilities as a policeman. He finds this case as an escape from a life where he finds himself unsuccessful both in professional and personal life and wants to step up in the eyes of his son and wife.
The strong determination of Hathiram leads to many twists and suspense in the show which reveals how dirty politics is from the ground level up to the top. In Pataal Lok, Neeraj Gabi has played the role of the journalist whose was about to be assassinated and finds this opportunity as something that can help him succeed more in future and gaining sympathies in the eyes of the audience and hence more TRPs.
Pataal Lok is a combination of extremely wonderful performance and strongly knit storyline. Believe me, as an enthusiast of cinema and have watched the movies from many countries, the acting performance of the actors was one of the best I have ever seen. Not only Jaideep, but all the actors have played so beautifully that it makes you think why these actors have been doing side roles in the mainstream cinema when they can perform hundred times better than the "stars" of our country.
The screenplay of Pataal Lok is very beautifully delivered. It excites the interests in the audience and you would better understand this when you start to watch the show. The dialogues are very solid and meaningful. Pataal Lok has used abusive language in too many places but believe me, if you have been born and brought up in Old Delhi or a small city in Allahabad etc, you will find such language very common. How Hathiram expels his frustration with the means of abusive language is very realistic and I did not find it used more than what was required.
In this review of Pataal Lok, I will also talk about the direction. The direction in Pataal Lok is extremely powerful and camera work has been done with exception too. Overall, I would say Pataal Lok is the best web series I have ever watched from India and one of the best in the whole world for this genre. How realism has been delivered with a lens is commendable and I believe this would turn out to be a turning point in the careers of every actor that acted in this series.
