Tikli and Laxmi bomb is now streaming on Netflix. Tikli and Laxmi bomb had won many praises including many awards for best film in London Asian film festival and Berlin international film festival.
Tikli and Laxmi bomb is about Laxmi Malwankar who is a sex worker in Mumbai who takes a shot at S.V. street and has been a piece of Mumbai's flourishing sex exchange for almost two decades. Laxmi Malwankar is 40, tainted and at some level has a profound seeded dedication towards Mhatre, the pimp, who deals with every one of the young ladies on that road. Putul, 22, hails from Bangladesh and Mhatre the pimp has conveyed her to Laxmi to be instructed the ropes. Putul, defiant as she seems to be, is brimming with inquiries concerning how this framework functions and why every one of the men in this arrangement of prostitution pronounces to give security and then wind up getting to be predators themselves from whom at that point there is no assurance.
Tikli and Laxmi bomb story is a fresh take on the situation of sex workers. Tikli and Laxmi bomb didn’t talk about human trafficking, it talked about human working as a sex worker. Lakshmi who works as a sex worker got a new roommate Tikli. Tikli made Lakshmi Malwankar and other women realize that they are the most important commodity in this business yet they didn’t get any respect and protection according to that. The police who are supposed to protect the citizens also involved to harass them even after having their cut. There was no talk of how they got into this business, unlike a crime alert tv show. Tikli and Laxmi Bomb was about the conditions of the women while doing the work of prostitution. This happened because the job of the middleman who was wired to have superiority over women and if that women is a sex worker they go even a step further. Tikli and Laxmi decide to bring indigenous dispensation bypassing those middle man and give a share to the main guy directly. The women were disrespected by the middlemen not because they are sex workers but because they are women. If it's just about the work then those men were also a part of it. It happens everywhere with most of the women irrespective of what she does. The storyline of Tikli and Laxmi Bomb is very engaging with the splash of humour here and there. The structure of Tikli and Laxmi Bomb is similar to those trite revolutionary films. Starting with the injustice inflicted on a group then an outsider comes in and make them realise that they are being oppressed. This starts revolution against the oppressor screenplay which has typical three acts structure. Yet the narrative of a sex worker is so fresh and engaging that the makers of Tikli and Laxmi Bomb make us ponder. Although, the visuals are not very disturbing like in bandit queen. The analogy of sex workers within the city of Mumbai is stand out for me and we can see that everywhere across the country. We worship our rivers consider them goddess and yet we have the most polluted rivers in the world. I strongly recommend Tikli and Laxmi Bomb for the audience.
