The Lovebirds

The Lovebirds is a comedy movie available on Netflix and stars Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae in the lead role as a couple. The movie is 1 hour 27 minutes long and overall is a light-hearted crime-comedy. Let's see how it stands.

The Lovebirds Movie Review

The lovebirds is a Netflix movie which starts with a couple and shows there current situation after being in the relationship for four years. They are often referred to as the lovebirds by other cast members because of their constant arguments and talking even in serious situations. The Lovebirds is about this couple who one day mistakenly collides with a cyclist while arguing on something. The cyclist although remains alive, a man calling himself as a cop asks for their car and kill the man by running the car over him. Once the man dies, he leaves the scene and leaves the lovebirds there. The bystanders then notice the man lying on the road and soaked in the blood. They call the police and analysing that they will be arrested in the case of murder, they both run away from the scene. 

The lovebirds decide to solve the case by themselves and this follows a certain turn of events which are funny as well as well portrayed. Kumail has done a great job on the screen with a few scenes being really funny.  What happens, in the end, is for you to see. 

The lovebird is a light-hearted movie which during these times of epidemic, will surely bring a smile on your face. The story is very weak and from the story point of view, I would rather give it 1 star if that system is followed. The direction of the movie is okayish but the actors have done a good job. All in all, you would not feel it like a one and a half hour movie. The lovebirds is recommended from our side.
