Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan - The Other Side Story

Released on 21st Feb 2020, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is the latest Bollywood movie. Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan lights up the lives with humour and sweet moments in the journey a very sensitive topic- Gay relationships in India. A light-hearted comedy, Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan takes you to the other side of the emotions that may be straight people are unable to understand, at least the parents. The movie starts in Delhi where Aman (Jitender Rao) and Kartik (Ayushmann Khurrana) live and work together. To attend a cousin’s wedding Aman had to go home and Kartik accompanies him where all the fuss starts.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan Story

Aman’s sister’s wedding is in Gomatinagar ( U.P.), where Aman’s dad, a well-known scientist, who is suspecting that his son is having an affair with a boy, sees them kissing in the
train. He isn’t very cool about it even after being a well-educated man and starts showing his anger
to his son in different ways possible to make him change his mind. Kartik is adamant
enough to make Aman’s family accept their love but couldn’t. He came out as gay in front of his
father long ago and knows the struggles of facing the family. This movie throws some light on the struggles in the life of people who keep pretending a different personality, the choices they have to make to mix up in society. This story isn’t only about the people in a relationship but also about the family members who get confused in understanding that it is as normal as being straight and end up thinking that being gay is a disease.

Shubh Manga Zyada Savdhaan Review

There is not a single scene in Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan which does not support the story. This isn’t just Ayushman’s movie, everybody did their best to serve the motive of the story very well.
Family members, their roles , their lines are very well written that I haven’t seen such
the serious topic being taken too lightly by the audience and laughing on every joke of the movie.
Where Gay relationships are still a taboo in Indian society, Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan brings the same kind of the story in a different way. This laudable family drama keeps you connected throughout the show and you stop keeping track of time. Aman and Kartik look totally in love and you can notice the audience saying “Awwww” at some of the scenes too. So, if you are thinking
twice for watching this movie or not, DON’T thinks, Just grab a bucket of popcorn (or maybe not ;)) and take this ride of Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan.
