Batla House Movie Review

Batla House Review

Batla House was released on 15th August 2019 and is based on the famous encounter which took place in the Batla House, Jamia Nagar Delhi on 19th September 2008. This is a John Abraham movie and shows the aftermath of Indian police officials after the Batla House encounter and the stance of media on the same. Every time the victims’ emotions are showcased, the director(Nikhil Advani) has tried to show the emotional torture, embarrassment and struggle of the people who are blamed for such a massacre.

Batla House Movie

Batla House Movie Story

The Batla House movie starts outside Batla house, where inspector K.K. Verma(Ravi Kishan) is trying to stabilize the situation as a shootout between police and terrorists has already started without his orders. After a long struggle, two of the suspects have died while one manages to escape. Luckily one of them is caught alive and is taken in custody. K.K. Verma also loses his life in executing the operation. The media starts blaming police department and DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav (John Abraham) for killing innocent people as there are no solid grounds on which the encounter took place. Hence the media highlights the operation as a "Fake Encounter" and the case later popularizes as Batla House Fake Encounter Case. As a result, few NGOs also come in support of the suspects. Enquiry starts for verifying the authenticity of the Batla House operation which leaves DCP Sanjeev and team in severe mental pressure. They are struggling in between the guilt of killing the innocent people and the evidence to support the fact that they killed terrorists. Giving justice and justifying martyrdom to K.K. Verma in front of the world becomes their main motivation. They lose confidence in themselves. The pressure of the society results in suicidal thoughts of Sanjeev due to which he tries to kill himself many times. At last, in the courtroom, all the emotions burst out and Sanjeev expresses everything with confidence.

Batla House Rating And Review

The scenes showing guilt-struck Sanjeev in Batla House are really convincing. The acting is fine. Batla House's story seems to disconnect when reaching towards the climax of the movie when they start planning to catch one of the suspected in another area. But the climax is what shows the essence of the entire Batla House movie. Dialogues are delivered perfectly. Facts are put at the right time and in the perfect way possible. So the disconnection experienced at the beginning of the second half can be retrieved and relaxed. Batla House's story seems interesting and full of excitement overall. In the initial days, Batla House ratings have shot up the movie continues to enjoy a rating of 9 after a week of release. According to my rating, Batla House movie is highly recommended to watch.
