Article 15

Article 15 Movie Review

Article 15 is released this Friday and have received a good response from the Indian audience. Article 15 stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sayani Gupta in the lead roles.

Synopsis:

Article 15 is based on the article 15 of the Indian constitution. The article 15 defines the right to equality and any biasing on any basis is illegal in the constitution. The movie describes how the article 15 has never reached the minds of a few people living in the remote villages. Based on a true story, Article 15 tells the reality of a few places where scheduled cast and tribes are considered untouchables till today. Article 15 is about the gang rape of three 15-year old Dalit girls and the murder of 2 among them.

My Opinion:

Article 15 is perfectly executed and there could not be any more refinement of the way the movie is shown. Weaving every small scene to create a bigger affect in the movie is done exceptionally well. Although based on the true story, the story has been shown providing great climax to the audience till the end. The touch of Korean thrillers could be felt easily. The acting has been superb by Ayushmann Khurrana and exceptionally well by Sayani Gupta. I could not think of any other actor who could have acted better than Sayani.
The direction of the movie is great and the director has left no stone unturned. Although the movie is slightly bigger, there is not a point when you will be bored in the movie. I liked how the writer has not unnecessarily brought the story of Ayushmann's wife. The movie is great and tells the story of the Indian society where some people are considered superior just because of the caste. Although such incidents are very rare inside the cities, the village scenario is shown to open the eyes of everyone. The movie has made a good mark on the audience and definitely deserves a great response from our side. Article 15 could be a little bit disturbing while revealing the reality, but the scene where everyone tells their caste is hilarious. Living in the Indian society, I know that all is true. I hope people would spend some bucks and see this movie in theaters. It is highly recommended.
