Mulk Review
The moment I saw the trailer, I was excited and adamant to go and see this movie. I am very glad that
Rishi Kapoor is accepting and doing projects which challenges acting skills and also has off stream storyline. Not talking about much for these films, lets have a loot at synopsis and my opinion towards mulk.
Synopsis:
Mulk is a story of a family (whose head is Rishi Kapoor). This family lives in Banaras and both Hindu and Muslims live in harmony. One day a bomb blasts in a bus going to Ahmedabad from Banaras and the main accused is the son of Rishi Kapoor's brother Bilal Mohammad who is played by
Manoj Pahwa. Finally the boy is encountered by ATS and the family is accused of being involved in the terrorist act. The story follows in a courtroom where the family is questioned and is required to prove that they are not involved and love their Mulk (India) as much as any Hindu.
My Opinion:
Well, Mulk is a really off road drama with no exceptional acting as such but a story line that is as solid as iron. Any person living in India for a few years can related to the same. I really thank from my full heart to the directors and writers to pick up the sensitive topic and portray it in such a beautiful way.
Every Muslim is not a terrorist is a main theme of the story and a Indian Muslim loves India no less than a Indian Hindu. The topic is really great and watching such bollywood movies makes me realise that Indian cinema is finally changing and is more focussed now on story and acting rather than actors (or stars so to say). I was also surprised by the people watching such movies. The show was almost housefull which is rarely seen when two more movie were also released the same weekend.
Talking about acting, Rishi Kapoor has done the finest job among all including
Ashutosh Rana and
Tapsee. Although the acting required in this movie is not so exceptional since it is mainly a courtroom drama but the best you could get, is present in the film role. I did not realise at all when the intermission was shown and the movie ended. The movie involves you so much that you would think it is a one hour movie, but actually it it 2 hours and 20 min. It is so involving. But I don't need to say that this movie is only for those who are sensible, understand cinema and watch movies not just for entertainment. If you are some leftist or anti-muslim kind, please go and watch for learning some good things. Overall this movie is
very highly recommended.
