Sanju

Sanju Review

So the most awaited movie of the first half of 2018 finally arrived in India and the shows are housefull straight away from the first day. But is the movie worth the hype? Let's find out.

Synopsis:

Although Synopsis for this movie does not need an introduction but still I will try to brief about it. Sanju is a movie based on Sanjay Dutt which shows his life until he completely served the sentence in TADA case. The movie is about his life, not professional but mainly personal and his love life, of course. It starts with Sanjay being very young when he started taking drugs and then becomes a womanizer and then becomes a "Terrorist" keeping illegal arms in his bedroom. The movie also portrays his overcoming from all his troubles and fighting for justice along with his father. His father Sunil Dutt is played by Paresh Rawal while Sanju is played by Ranbir Kapoor. Sunil Dutt has a hard time focussing on his son and politics side by side and ultimately fighting for justice.

The movie also has one unexpected element, Sanju's best friend who is by his side in thick and thin and is always supporting and motivating him.

My Opinion:

The acting of Ranbeer Kapoor is fabulous. I was perplexed at some points. He walks and talks exactly like Sanjay Dutt and his hand movements are also like him. He has portrayed the character very well. Sunil Dutt is played by Paresh Rawal and he has done a fabulous job. I have seen previous interviews of Sunil Dutt and Paresh Rawal hasn't missed any point in portraying Sunil Dutt. I am really thankful to both of them as this will ultimately improve overall Indian Cinema.

Talking about the story. I found the story not worth the movie. Remember how you always watch a biopic and come out of the cinema like a different person. You are motivated and encouraged. You remember every scene out of the theatre. Well, this isn't gonna happen in this movie. The movie story is really not worth a biopic. It seems like Sanjay Dutt produced this movie in order to clear out his image in the public with the help of one of the most renowned directors of India. The second reason I did not like the movie was because for every bad thing that Sanjay Dutt did, he just thrashed and blamed everything on some other person. He became a drug addict BECAUSE his friend gave him drugs and snorted glucose himself. He became a drug addict BECAUSE his mother died. He became a womanizer BECAUSE Ruby left him and he kept illegal arms BECAUSE he thought someone would kill his father. This is clear bullshit in my opinion. You cannot blame anyone for your bad habit. You cannot blame anyone if you became a drug addict or anything. The story line is lame for me and the acting is not enough in a movie to keep it afloat. In my opinion this movie is not recommended to watch.
