Mirzapur

Mirzapur Review

The Hindustan Times and Indian Express rated Thugs Of Hindostan at 1 star and Mirzapur at 2. I started to believe they have a huge transition for one point. Well, I watched Mirzapur yesterday and I wanted to tell you about it.

Synopsis:

Mirzapur is a story about Tripathi gang who is the "Bahubali" of Mirzapur. A small incident of shooting at a wedding turns the life of two men Ali Fazal and Vikrant Massey upside down as they are hired by Pankaj Tripathi. They brings up the business of Pankaj Tripathi quite soon enough and climb the ladder to success. The story then follows some old rivalry which results into fatal circumstances.

My Opinion:

Mirzapur is a very well told, executed and directed web series. Not only according to Indian cinema, but stands a very good position internationally too. The acting is fabulous and there is no over expressions for any dialogue for anybody. Their acting makes you feel that they have grown into this place and all this crime is their regular job. It reminded me of Gangs Of Wasseypur.

Some of the dialogues are very well written and I really appreciate the lighting and the camera placement. The use of abusive language is exactly perfect. They have not used the abusive language unnecessarily in every dialogue like Netflix's Sacred Games. Few things are very appreciable such as some old movie dialogue can be heard in the background and they relate it to the present scene. There is also some scenes where some wildlife video is being played on the TV and the same situation is connected to the present scene. This is really great work and thinking.

Apart from the story which executes at a very good pace with good nail biting scenes, I was disappointed by the ending of Mirzapur. It seemed liked everything went on with a good pace but suddenly the director realised that he has only one episode left and he could not finish it like he started and maintained. One more episode could have made Mirzapur perfect. The story also left some things unnecessarily. It is good to leave to the audience to let them think themselves but few scenes at the end must not be left like this. Apart from ending, Mirzapur is a great watch and I highly recommend it.
