Lust stories as I see is NOT the sequel to the Bombay Talkies that people have been speaking about. A sequel does not mean same director shooting a movie.
Lust stories is entirely different than Bombay talkies and if you have not watched bombay talkies previously, there is no need for you to watch it first before watching this.
Synopsis:
Lust stories is actually not about lust but is actually about the ambiguous feeling that women sometimes encounter. I do not know why it has been named Lust Stories instead of Love Stories or something like that. Lust Stories starts with
Radhika Apte who is a teacher in a college and has an sexual encounter with her student. She falls in love with him but does not commit so becusue she is already married. Although, she is jealous about his girlfriend and also scolds him, visits him etc etc like a girlfriend does but in the end when the boy realises that she loves him, he says,"I did not know you love me, I will leave everyone and everything for you" to which she says, "Are you mad? I am married."
The second story is about a maid who develops her feeling for her boss. The maid is played by
Bhumi Pednekar. She has sexual encounters with her boss on a frequent basis. One day, his boss' parents visit him and they have planned an arrangement for meeting a girl. Although in the start the maid is positive by her looks that he will reject her but she finds him flirting with the girl. To which in the end she realises that it was just a lust for his boss and also by her looks it seems she has now believed she is just a maid.
The third story is about an elderly women who is not satisfied with her life with her husband. Her husband thinks of her as inferior to him. This women is played by
Manisha Koirala and her husband is
Sanjay Kapoor. Since she is not satisfied, it leads her to develop affection for her husband's friend. She finally is fed up with her husband and tells her the truth. In the last I leave it to you what she decides.
The final story is directed by one of the not-so-talented directors of Hindi Cinema
Karan Johar. He shows a story of a woman whose husband has a problem of premature ejaculation. She is not satisfied with it and seeks help with her colleague
Neha Dhupia who is a divorced but smart woman. She recommends her to use vibrator for her satisfaction and which falls her into a pit which ultimately results in her divorce.
My Opinion:
I think lust stories is created without any purpose just because Bombay Talkies was a huge hit. I do not see a reason for anyone to learn or get entertained by anything form this movie. Though I find the first story directed by
Anurag Kashyap highly realistic, I do not see any sense in any of the other movie. I do not see a reason to involve such a topic just because it won't be censored. I have seen many movies with explicit sexual scenes which has great meaning and story to it. But I do not find this movie worth watching. They ruined everything they created by Bombay Talkies.
I do not recommend this to watch.
